Decorating and crafting

That should be the name of my blog! I'm spending a lot of time on both right now and hope to have some finished projects to share soon. I'm also in the mood to cook Christmas goodies, but as of yet I remain without the most important ingredient: pecans! Almost all of my goodies have the star ingredient. There seems to be a shortage this year on the delicious nuts, and no other nut would taste the same. I've got to find me some locally grown pecans! NOW! The ones from the store are tasteless compared to these! Oh well, if I don't, I'll just have to make cheesecake or something.
I'm having a blast looking at all the decorations, ornaments, goodies, and such that everyone is concocting for Christmas this year! I'm also enjoying all the crafts I'm learning as well. I just made my own stencil! I'm not really sure if it turned out that good, but with practice, I will get better. I used sheetrock mud on it to make an applique for a plaque I'm working on. I'm curious to see how it turns out. I also painted my shelves with home made "chalk paint" I made using plaster of paris. I got the look I was going for. Now, I'm about to paint the trim in my bathroom that's been waiting for about five years, now. Why have I taken so long? So many other things have captured my attention, but now that beautiful trim is taking it.
I don't understand blogger. I'm following blogs that are not showing up in my reader, and blogs I stopped following are still showing up. Also, I have eleven followers but my blog says I have six. Can someone tell me how to fix this?
Well, guess I better get busy again! Happy reading! Leave a comment if you wish. They make my day!

Pattern I used to make the stencil.

Trees without the candle holders, since they kept falling of f of them.

Lighting wasn't right but these roses look real!

I almost forgot to take before photos.

I like the way this looks now.

I guess I forgot to take the after photo.

Banner before.

Bookshelf before. I'll have to get the after photos in the next post.

I couldn't resist the beautiful sunset!

Banner or bunting after.

Molding in the bathroom I'm about to paint.

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm following you now, too, and I hope it shows that! I have no idea why Blogger's acting up. Maybe give it a day or two - sometimes it just fixes itself. You've got some nice projects going. I really like your banner! I love decorating and crafting during the winter months, too - especially painting! Good luck on that trim molding!

  3. Did you cut out the stencil with the dremel? I just got mine...it would be great if it does that! And I'm forever forgetting to take 'before' and 'during' pics too :) No clue about the blogger problems - have you searched their help forums? They're usually pretty comprehensive.
