How do ya'll like my blog layout?

It's been an interesting experience trying to get it all worked out! I wanted a series of pictures at the top, but I've used up all of my space for photos and have to purchase more in order to add photos to the layout there. I can't add them anywhere on the layout, just gadgets. I'm working on my Valentine's Day banner and I decorated my dining room table. I need plates, crystal, silverware, etc. to make it complete. But those things will come in time. One thing God has taught me is to wait for things that I really want. That gives me time to decide if I really want them and to be prepared and/or surprised when I receive them. I don't enjoy waiting for things, but I try to have a good attitude while I wait. As Joyce Meyer says, "I don't want to have to go around that mountain again!" I have enjoyed her teachings for many years, and have tried to apply them to my everyday life. I've seen tremendous change in me over the years and still I have a long way to go! That's what makes this journey we call life so interesting, the lessons we learn as we go along. How did I get off onto that? Oh well, guess I needed to share that. Hope your weather is better than our cloudy, rainy, windy, colder day! Blessings from Bama! Rolllll Tide!!!!!!

Attitudes of the mind

Have you heard that teaching by Joyce Meyer? She is teaching this week on her book,"Battlefield of the Mind". One of the lessons she talks about is when the children of Israel were led by Moses out of Egypt. At first they were excited to leave, but as the journey wore on, they began to murmur and complain about their situation. They wanted to go back to Egypt because they had a slave mindset. Their attitudes were not right because of the difficulties they faced. It would have been easier to turn back than to press forward. God brought them out to bring them into a land flowing with milk and honey, but their attitudes kept them from entering in. Their offspring got to go, but they died in the wilderness. Don't give up and give in to bad attitudes on your journey. Trust God, even when your circumstances seem impossible to bear. Have a right attitude with God and He will bring you through!
The concrete is being poured and the yard is beginning to look like a different place. It may be another week before everything is poured and finished. Here are some pics.

Are you going to the party?

Joyce Meyer has been teaching on forgiveness this week. She used the story of the prodigal son and his older brother. The older brother was offended when he saw his father welcoming back the son who had wasted his life and money. The father gave a party for his son who had returned from the dead, so to speak. The older son was very resentful at his father for doing this. Do you see where resentment and unforgiveness can get you? It can keep you from enjoying what God has placed in your life to enjoy. Jesus died so that we might have and enjoy our lives, not be miserable with bitterness and unforgiveness. God will not forgive use if we don't forgive others! It doesn't matter who has offended you, hurt you, or spoken evil or lied about you, you MUST forgive them and let it go! It's not easy to forgive. You may have to keep on forgiving until you know in your heart that you have truly forgiven that person or group of people. The Bible tells us to love our enemies, do good to those who despitefully use us, and pray for them to be blessed. That all sounds so crazy, I know, but we are the ones who will reap rewards for obeying this truth. It's time to forgive and let it go! Lay it at Jesus' feet and He will help you through. Now, let's go to the party!
I haven't made any pics lately because I've been very busy in the house . I also have been working outside, even though the temps are a lot cooler. It feels like winter again! I even had to put the heavy blanket back on the bed! I'll be glad when this is over because people have planted veggies that could be damaged if it freezes.
