Falling for Fall!

The weather around here is slowly changing; as are the leaves. It is a welcome sight! I thought we'd never experience Autumn like everywhere else! Slowly but surely it's creeping in. Just like the changes on my blog. I am slowly but surely finding out how to make changes here. Picmonkey is helping, but I have trouble figuring it out. Like I wanted to have the blog title above the header, but I was unable to get it to stay. I am so tech dumb. I don't like all the sitting I have to do to get what I want. But once I figure it out, I hope to do changes more often so I won't forget how so quickly. I'm also trying to figure out the Cameo. Finally, Randy discovered that I had opened the wrong setting. Now I just need to finish what I started there. But not until I finish here.

We finally finished the flower beds we've been working for days on. I wouldn't work there when the temps were above the 70's. It get full sun all day and is very hot. The results are quite nice. The mums will fill in by Thanksgiving, I think. The irises and other bulbs we took out will be placed in another bed. There are changes going on around here all the time! I like that though, and wouldn't have it any other way! I truly want to write posts more often. They will come! Thanks for hanging in here while things are changing! Blessings from Bama!

My newest wreath. It's on Craigslist, but no one has called.

My other new wreath. Yet no one has called.

The leaves across the road are slowly changing.

The mums in the pots are finally blooming.

The side flower bed.

The front flower bed. Bulbs and a rosebush along with many weeds and grass have been removed.

The Mexican petunia bush is still showing off.

Fall Camping Trip to Hiawassee Georgia!

I really intended on writing a post before now, but life sort of snow-balls and here we are! I have been enjoying seeing Yasmine and Layla the past couple of weekends! I missed them this past weekend and hope they can return soon! I especially have missed Winterlynn and Riley since I haven't gotten to see them in over three weeks! I hope to get to see them soon!

We went to Hiawassee, Georgia this past weekend and it was absolutely beautiful! We stayed at the Georgia Mountain State Campground. It's right on Lake Chatuge. The weather was so much cooler there than here! It probably got up to eighty, when the sun was shining, but it was cloudy a lot with spotty rain. The air was almost chilly at night. Here, we're still muggy and in the 80's! There's a chance of strong storms during the middle of the night since there's a cold front moving through. (I don't like getting awakened in the middle of the night to loud thunder!) The high tomorrow is supposed to be in the lower 70's. Finally! Some cooler weather for here.

I'm still working on my Halloween wreaths and decor. I don't know why I got into that this year, but I'm having fun with it. I wonder if I can sell these wreaths? I surely don't need them all! I might list them on Craig's list and see what happens. I also need to list the bucklings and try to get them sold. No one wants to pay the price for a blue-eyed Nigerian Dwarf! I wished I'd known that before I invested in them! I believe the right person will eventually come along and buy them. I have to have faith!

I purchased a candy-roaster pumpkin at a farm-like stand on our trip and roasted it this morning. It gave me enough for two pies and some pumpkin humus. I found the recipe reference  at http://shadygroveadventures.blogspot.com/2014/10/roasted-pumpkin-hummus-delicious.html Yay! I did it! It is delicious! But of course I made some changes to it by using Great Northern Beans instead of chick peas, and whole sesame seeds instead of the tahini. Use what you've got or what you like, right? I also made some pita chips from white tortillas that I cut, sprayed with coconut spray, sprinkled with salt, and baked at 450 for about 8 minutes. Talk about good! Yum! Thank you for sharing this Lisa!

I sure do enjoy this time of year! Even though it's still warm and humid, there are changes all around. The leaves are showing more yellows now than green, and I love the smell in the air. Autumn is almost my favorite time of the year! I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading and commenting! Blessings from Bama!

Our spot at the campground.

It was on a slope. Ran forgot to look at the camera!

What a beautiful sight! See the pretty leaves?

Looks like the mountain is on fire, but it's just fog or a low cloud.

I'm taking better photos with this camera than I used to.

I'm thankful for the shot of the rainbow.

Another nice view.

Apple trees at R&A Orchards.

I love this store!

Guess what I found!

Yep, another bread machine! It was only $1 so I couldn't resist! I'll let ya'll know if it works.

What shall I do with all these Fuji's?

A candy roaster pumpkin.

It shrunk!

The rose smells as good as it looks.

Two and a half pints of pumpkin. I used some for the humus.

Yummy cider!

Almost a quart of delicious pumpkin humus!
