Last week snowstorm, this week Thunderstorm?

That's what the weatherman says! I didn't check to see if it's on the radar before writing this post, so I guess you'll find out next week! Just a few hours after I published the last post, it began to snow! I was so surprised! We got several inches, but it melted before lunch the next day. I hope we don't get the storms they are predicting! They could be severe! The temps have been very warm this week: mostly in the sixties. I think it got to seventy today! I've been outside working in the flower beds some. Poor Rubi dug holes and left debris everywhere! It's a mess, but it's getting better.

My seeds are germinating that I sowed after writing the last post. Not all of them have, but quite a few. I'm thankful to see them come up! I hope they all do. Do you have any idea why some don't? I think I'll throw the seed packs away that don't and buy more next year. Randy put up a small greenhouse that I'll put the plants in as soon as they're big enough. Sure hope it doesn't get blown away in the winds tonight! I don't like night-time thunderstorms! It's quite scary to wake up in the middle of the night to tornado sirens! We get up to see if it's coming this way so we'll know whether or not to duck and cover! Most of the time we don't have to get in our safe place. Hopefully, no one else will either!

It's hard to believe the weekend is almost here! I've gotten a lot accomplished this week, but still, where did the week go? I'm hoping the girls (Goats) are in the process of becoming Mommas! I guess we won't know for sure for a couple of months! At least they are all getting along pretty good! I thought I would never get more eggs! Today there were five, but one was crushed. I'm so happy to get more eggs! I love them scrambled where a sausage patty was cooked! That's my favorite breakfast these days!

Thanks for stopping by and reading. I always appreciate your time here and I especially appreciate your comments! Have a great weekend! Blessings from Bama!

What we looked out to the next morning!

A few of the girls braving the snow.

It seemed thicker this time.

Even the goats didn't seem to mind. I guess cause the temps were beginning to climb at this time.

The day I sowed our seeds.

The ciabata rolls I made. They were delicious made into a sandwich!

Our little Valentine baby!

Gonna rub some lotion on uncle Randy's feet!

Little cuties!

These three are such characters! Yasmine has lost another front tooth since this photo!

A Valentine's card for uncle Randy.

What the temps have been this week.

Cleaning out the flower bed.

Can you believe this mess?

Daffodils about to bloom! I saw some in bloom earlier this week, just a ways down the road.

I've been looking for a recipe for a good vegetable soup. I found it in this Weight Loss Magic Soup!

Winn and Riley were here today. The sun was shining brightly for a little while.

It's hard to catch her still.

The seedlings today.

Only a few here are sprouting.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm so glad to be back posting again! I've had a different kind of week this past week! I got to keep my little great-niece while her Mommy was out of town! My hat goes off to all of you Mommies who have a little one or two or three! When you're not used to having a two year old, then all of a sudden you have one, things change real quick! I still cooked and all but not like I normally do, and especially not with pictures. We all had a really good time, and it was kind of sad when she left, but everything is gradually getting back to normal. We were actually beginning to get into a routine with naps, bedtime, breakfast, etc. I think I could do that on a daily basis if I had to. And she has a little sister! But she stayed with my Mom and Dad. We saw them several times and she spent the day with us Friday and into that evening. That was fun, too! Hubby loves children so he was in the floor with them or reading to them when he was home. That's when I was able to cook. Sometimes I wished I had babies at home with me, but at my age, that wouldn't be fair to them or us. So I enjoy the great-nieces and one day grand-children? They are such a blessing to us and we're happy to get to be a part of their lives.
Just hope that all you sweet people have a wonderful Valentine's Day and that your family and spouse love you as much as we love each other in our family! I'm enjoying reading your blogs even though I may not always comment. I learn so much from Ya'll! Cooking, gardening, frugal living, crafts, decorating, there's so much to read about and so much to learn! I'll try to post later this week. Blessings from Bama!
Can you tell they are really something else? They are two little characters!

Smiling for Aunt FeFe!

I made this soup last night but I forgot to photo it. So I took it out of the fridge and it has the hard fat on it. It is delicious! I'm making some dough for baguettes to dip into the soup. Yummy!

Are we having an early Spring?

With temps. in the lower seventies yesterday and lower sixties today, one would think so. Especially after the early morning tornadoes that came near this area yesterday! Some places were hit hard and several deaths have been reported. Nothing like April 27, 2011, though. I am thankful once again that we were spared during this weather! It happened at like 4:00 in the morning this time and some folks slept right through the tornado sirens! I don't know how they could, because the sirens are loud! Anyway, it's scary now when those sirens go off! Hubby got up and watched James Spann the weather man, in Birmingham, and at one point, the tornado was predicted to come right through our town. It weekend, however, as it encountered cooler temps., therefore dying down to just severe storms. I don't like talking about this kind of weather, so on to other things!
I have been in the kitchen all day, loving every minute of it! I finally got the carrot cake made! It's delicious! I also got out my Vitamix and filled it with delicious veggies and turned them into a soup. Yes, the Vitamix cooks! It also freezes! I love my Vitamix and plan on using it a lot this year! The food prepared in it is whole food, meaning you use the whole vegetable, or fruit. I ESPECIALLY love smoothies made in it! I just ate my soup, along with a piece of homemade oatmeal bread baked in my bread machine. That is the best bread I make! Guess what else I'm going to make after I work out with weights? Strawberry jam! I walked outside, today, since it's so warm, then I ate my soup. Now, while it's digesting, I'm writing this post; then I'll go upstairs and use my weights. Next, I'll make my strawberry jam. I got the strawberries at Aldi for $1.99 a quart. My friend made some and gave me a jar and it was the best strawberry jam I ever tasted! Now I've got to make my own! Isn't it nice to have friends and family to share your food with? I'll have to give most of this carrot cake away so I won't eat too much of it. Would you like a piece? Thanks for reading, following, and commenting! Blessings from Bama!
Soup in the Vitamix!

Served with homemade oatmeal bread!

Yummy strawberries waiting to be turned into jam!
Can you believe I'm dressed like this in January, outside?

The sky is so clear and beautiful!

Yes we have chickens, ducks, and geese! I love our fresh eggs!
